Is Companion Savings separate from my Share Certificate?
Yes. Companion Savings is a separate, high-yield savings account available when you open a qualifying La Cap Share Certificate with a term of 12 months or longer. Your Share Certificate earns its advertised APY, while your Companion Savings Account earns a separate variable APY. Each account maintains its own balance, and different deposit and withdrawal requirements apply.

How much can I deposit into Companion Savings?
Your Companion Savings opening deposit can be up to the balance of your qualifying Share Certificate, with a $1,500 minimum. For example, if you open a $10,000 Share Certificate, you can deposit between $1,500 and $10,000 into your separate Companion Savings Account. Both accounts must be opened at the same time, and additional deposits to Companion Savings are not permitted after opening.

1 La Cap Savings (Share) Accounts are variable rate accounts, and the rate may change after the account is opened. APY = Annual Percentage Yield. Companion Savings Account is only available to members who open a separate Share Certificate Account with a term of 12 months and greater. Companion Savings Account must be opened at the same time as the Share Certificate Account. Minimum initial deposit for the Companion Savings Account is $1,500.00. The maximum initial deposit may be no greater than the balance of the separate Share Certificate Account. Once opened, no additional deposits may be made into the Companion Savings Account. La Cap may change the dividend rate for your account as determined by the credit union Board of Directors. Dividends earned are posted and compounded monthly. Each day your account balance exceeds $1,500.00, you earn dividends on the entire balance. Applicable fees and conditions could reduce the earnings on your account.Membership required.
